How to add notes in Gmail

September 17, 2020

Have you been looking for a way to add notes in Gmail? This guide teaches you how to do just that by using Mailflow.

You will learn how to add notes and annotations to your emails and how to organize your notes.

P.S. Make sure that you have installed Mailflow before you start this guide.

In this guide:

Add notes to an email

Step 1:

Open an email where you want to make notes. Make sure that you can see the Mailflow sidebar. If it's closed, you can open it by clicking the Mailflow icon.

Step 2:

Click + Add card then Add note.

Highlight & annotate an email

Drag your cursor across any text in the email body and select your color from the tooltip that appears. This saves the highlight to the sidebar of the email.

If you need to add a comment, you can click the snippet in the sidebar and add a comment.

Organize your notes

Gathering your emails in projects is the easiest way to organize your notes. Your notes follow your emails, so when you add an email to a project, you add both the email and its notes.

Use projects

You can add an email to a project by clicking Add to project and select a project from the list or create a new one.

An overview

You can use the left-hand navigation access the project at any time. Here you'll see all the belonging notes, emails, and tasks at one single page.
